KCMT has introduced B.Sc. (H.Sc.) to meet the demand of Women Development and Empowerment in the Indian context. It is a three years full time course affiliated to MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. To impart home science education, the curriculum covers all the aspects, which in turn reflects on the overall personality of a perfect professional.
KCMT has specialized expertise in developing a student of Homes Science with wide variety and reach in the key areas of Home Science. With growing concern for lifestyle, health and nutrition, the importance of home science courses are also increasing.
The Faculty strives to cultivate capabilities and skills in the students for taking up challenging professions catering to societal needs to various aspects of human development, ecosystem, normal and therapeutic nutrition, food processing, textile testing, dress designing and dietary and family counseling.
The extension activities of the faculty are diverse and help rural people in child care, processing and preservation of food, dress designing and tailoring, guiding parents and community people for behavioral problems of children and deal with social problems.
After b.sc. (home science) courses, the option for doing postgraduate diploma or m.sc in various branches of home science is also available in india. thus, students can choose to specialize in any of the five streams of home science.
Home Science Society aims at promoting professional competence among students and their over-all personality development. It organizes various activities such as debate competitions, cultural programmers, scientific and technical exhibitions/competitions, art and craft competitions, elocution contests, group discussions for personality development of the students. Academic staffs of the College and students are members of the Society. The Society runs through an Executive Committee which is formed every year. The Executive Committee consists of elected/nominated students from the department of Home Science, a staff counsellor and a co-staff counsellor who are faculty members of the College.

The philosophy of home science has changed to prepare individuals for professional roles rather than to prepare them only for home making. Today home science is aimed at preparing professional workers like teachers, nurses, dietitians, researchers, social workers, designers, administratoRs.etc.
After completing a graduate degree in home science, students can either join various industries or carry on further studies. The employment opportunities for home science graduates are continuously growing. Thus, one can take up a job in the production industry, tourism industry, service industry or teaching jobs, technical jobs, or sales jobs.
One can also work independently as research analyst or nutrition consultant. The opportunities for home science graduates lie mainly in the non-governmental organizations.
Home Science Courses with their scientific approach and practical applicability can contribute a lot not only in fulfilling the personal ambitions of the students but also in betterment of family and community.
Home science courses can be pursued by students of arts, social science, commerce or science backgrounds.
10+2 in any stream. Aggregate 45% marks (40% for SC and ST)
Direct admission will be done at the college based on Personal Interview and Merit of the students at 10+2 level or as per the guidelines thus set by the governing university i,e. MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.
